Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) is a complex issue in Cross River State's forest communities , rooted in poverty, tradition, and gender inequality. Strategic intervention to prevent it requires partnership and funding. Thanks to Palladium SCALE project for working in partnership with CWSI and EGOT to educate women and girls in forest communities about their rights.
Despite efforts to end Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) , the practice continues unabated with huge impacts on women and girls and on community development. To tackle this problem, EGOT is partnering with the Young Men Network against SGBV to find solutions at eradicating this violence.
EGOT empowers women, young girls at risk and survivors of CEFM with information, support structures and skills to advocate for their rights, promote safety and gender equal relationships in their communities.
